Dance Competition

July 2nd, 2007 § 8

Hello DIGICORP,
Its high time to write a post bout the rocking dancing competition that we had on 30th June 2007.
Where should I start!!!
OK Here it goes…. It was in the weekly meeting of the team leaders that the thought of organising a dance competition as a monthly event came to their mind (Weird Ain’t it is!!!). Nobody was aware that this weird thought would turn into a reality show. However it did…..
I always felt that DIGICORP believes in dynamism, but the employees of DIGICORP proved it as well. Employees were divided into six teams, each team being leaded by a girl (Too Smart!!! Girls can make anyone dance….What say???). Watch out our leaders. Don’t they look too strict :) ))

The Team Leaders

I was dying to watch the teams practising, however the days were passing by but no one took the initiative….Then came the role of HR into the picture. She called everyone up for an urgent meeting without disclosing the agenda. I dont know what she did, but at the end of the meeting I saw DIGICORP hipping and hopping to finalize the songs as well as making plans on how to progress.

Look at some of the rocking and even entertaining practices. They would yell at me if disclose their steps to other teams. Look at some of the practice sessions.

Practice Session

Dynamism was visible here when ppl used to work for long hours and after the office hours started practising to compete. It was fun watching the s/w developers giving all that they could to dance. It was a DO-OR-DIE effort. Ppl were finding it difficult to manage, but hats-off to their enthusiasm & optimism that kept them up. And altogether a different scene at DIGICORP, employees who used to come early and work late nights did the same but this time for dancing. So apart from the office hours, DIGICORP was no longer turned into a dance floor for a couple of days. It wasnt that easy for them to dance, but the team spirits & the energy levels were so high that the team members after consuming COMBIFLAMS & GLUCON-D and other energy savers kept moving themselves on the rocking dance numbers. And the wait ends here, it was 30th of june. DIGICORP as a whole, got together to find Kismey Kitna Hai Dum.

Let me write down about the teams. The 6 teams were as following.
1. JBJ (Jhoom Barabar Jhoom):
Mamta(The Leader), Nilesh, Hitesh, Ankita, Vivek and Nimish. Watch them performing.

2.Salame-Dhum:
Foram(The Leader), Hiral, Prashant, and Kuldip. Watch them performing.

3. Dance-Masti:
Komal(The Leader), Kajal, Rohit, Sanjay and Kunjan. (this team had the least time to do the practice and they were yet able to put on a great show.) Watch them performing.

4. Flamboyant:
Payal(The Leader), Abhishek, Nachiket, Sanket and Kuntal. Watch them performing.

5. Jhankaar:
Hiral(The Leader), Dharmraj, Niraj and Siddharth. (They did the maximum practice and they were very energetic.) Watch them performing.

6. V-5:
Supriya(The Leader), Jigna, Hiren (The dude look), Milan and Mitul (They really put on a good show and their theme was also excellent. At the time of results i was much worried about them as they were the real competitors. Watch them performing.

But in the end we(Flamboyants) won by putting up a great show. Thanks to our choreographer (Purval) and our hard practicing efforts (but according to me we did the least practice).

HOWEVER, WE JUSTIFIED “ALL THAT ENDS WELL IS ALL WELL".

And Really End was great…. Check out below the great show put up by our little Hritik…

Lastly I would like to thank the DIGICORP team. Please dont forget to Post your experiences on the blog. Most importantly i would like to know how the first time dancers found it.

Group Discussion Activity

June 5th, 2007 § 0

Hello All,

Its time to write about the next monthly activity for month of May 2007. All were waiting for the activity.

This time we planned for group discussion in which we divided the company in 4 teams each having strength around 7 – 8 persons. They were given topics in advance. And we created 2 groups so it was kind of semi final first. Whichever teams win will be going to the finals.

Then in the final the topic will be given at that point of time only and they will be given 20 minutes to prepared for the discussion and then we will have the final round.

It was fun at the event. Mamta’s team performed well and they won.

The topics for semifinal rounds were.

1. Love Marriage vs. Arrange Marriage
In this both the teams (Mamta and Siddhartha’s team supported arrange marriage and no one supported love marriage. But mamta’s team was more convincing so they went through it.

2. Is woman’s place in house?
Here also both the teams supported having a working woman but the discussion was a bit confusing and in the end it also became aggressive also. In the end Unnati’s team won by
a narrow margin.

In the topic was “India Towards Westernization / Modernization “. And here Mamta’s team won.

Below is the video for the same event.

Where Am I?
