In line with our tradition, we are back again with the Treasure Hunt 2009!!!
Last year in february 2008 we had it in our half constructed office with six teams and six members in each team.
Well, this time Auda Garden, Prahladnagar was the epicenter for the event. Minal and i brain stormed for a while and thought of framing the clues in and around Auda garden, including some entertainment arenas like Fun Republic, Wide Angle, CineMax, Food Junction like Bawarchi, Cakes N Bakes, Lush, Karnavati Club in addition to the shopping marts like Gulmohar park, Iskon Mall and even the impenetrable areas like Satellite Police Station, AMA and IIM.
Now you can imagine how difficult it would have been framing the clues and actually affixing them at relevant places.
The event was scheduled on 28th February,9:00 a.m. @ Prahladnagar garden with all of them divided into eight teams (Pink, Fluroscent Green, Yellow, Orange, Green, Beige, Light Green & Rust), and seven members in each. The funniest part was on the same day at around 8:45 a.m., we were still left out with 10-15 clues to be clipped. Thanx to our dear directors (Kuntal, Abhishek, Sanket & Nachiket) that they somehow managed to place the clues in time.
Some of the clues were quite traditional while the others outlandish. Here are some examples of simple and twisted clues:
B
O
B O O K S
K
S (Crossword)
chaurahe pe baith ke C roma
ta ta mat kar
C roma c roma
(Croma)
From japan to USA
Infinite is my reach
solid is my performance
but lonely in this city i am
(Infinium)
It was complete hustle-bustle with the rollicking teams looking for the clues everywhere. Inspite of the jumbled up clues, the promptness that the teams showed in solving them was clearly throwing an in sight on the team spirit and the bonding wide spread amongst the digicorp employees.
There was cut throat competition amongst all the teams; finally it was the Beige (Vishal Shukla, Kuldip, Nayan, Nishant, Darshna, Deepak, Rohit Dubaria) team that stealed the show.
Catch the excitement live, here are a few snapshots of the event…..
Congratulations to the winning team, I hope you n’joyed the Treasure Lunch(Hunt) @ Lush.
Lastly thankyou Minal for those mysterious clues; directors as well for riding the rails at 7:00 in the morning and sticking up the clues; and not to forget hetavi’s sleepless night in triming the clues.
I hope you all enjoyed the event and would like you all to put up your experiences by dropping in your invaluable comments.
i am sure the treasure hunt was fun. and though i was at times skeptical about whether the participants would be able to solve certain clues- you guys amazed me yet again !!
next year (in case payal still decides to do it) be prepared for tougher clues !!
Many Many Congratulations to the winning team
You have done a great job.
But truly we all were surprised by the speed at which you all have solved the clues. I mean it for every team.
We thought some clues you will never be able to figure out like infinium toyota, divya bhaskar, gulmohar park etc.
But you all are really really smart and you have proven it once again. I do not know if we could have won this event if we 5 were there as a team.
I am sure the winning team must have had great lunch and nice experience over all.
The purpose of the event was as always team building and bonding.
I would like to thank Payal, Minal and Hetvi for the all the hardwork they have put in to this event.
It was looking impossible the day before and we all were wondering how this event will happen but it has happened and with very few mishaps. (at the end kuntal had one mishap and that too after the event was over
)
I would also like you all to thank four of us as we woke up at 7 AM and went around in night dresses to put clues in all locations. Well that was the only contribution of four of us but it was required right??
And also I would like to some teams to thank me especially for giving them nice hints (i know payal and minal are going to kill me for this afterwards but still i would take it for now)
Well I hope all of you had a nice time in the event and let us know your comments about the event. Suggestions are always welcome to make it even better next time
Hmmmm!!!
Former Champion’s Member wishes The Current Champs— Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
This Is Former Captain’s (Of course me
) Salute to Winning Captian!!!!
Looks like you had great fun… keep it up!!
Hey There,
Really the treasure hunt was a great fun.
I was not able to enjoy it to the fullest as we were not part of team as usual but yes I enjoyed a lot when I went to meet the teams on their hunt.
I met kuldip’s team first at Wide Angle and there we had fun. Then went and met Mehul’s team.
On my way back I also met Asmita’s team.
I really enjoyed talking to them and also was very happy while talking to them.
My sincere thanks to the ladies (hetavi, payal and minal (in ascending order of age
) ), you all did a great job of organizing.
And we also had fun when we had the team members caught up by security persons at public places. It was good that nothing much happened there.
Any new ideas for treasure hunt are welcome from your end.
Looking forward for Treasure Hunt 2010.
excitement was already build when probably a week before we came to know about treasure hunt event.. and it was boosted up when payal mam announced it later evening a day before the event.. from there our first treasure was started as we all have to “hunt” prahladnagar garden(auda garden) as many of us unknown to place..
next day we all reached there 9′O clock there.. though some were late..all of us surrounded by blues and oranges (i mean wearing digicorp tshirts) teams were announced.. i was the “Team Leader”, other members were bijal, jigar, vivek, parthiv, bhavik and kushal. finally sarkar(payal mam) gave some briefings regarding the game rules..and we all were handed with different colour chits.. mine team had a pink clue.. the race begins here
first clue was i dont remember exactly
“Jump as much as you can you wont get harm but for that you need to be tinier”
the first thing that came in our mind was bungy jumping..
so we started thinking of places like reliance mart, himalaya mall..etc
so we sent two people to other place and rest of us stayed at garden searching for clue.. that was the place we got our first victory and second chit in a dustbin whose picture u can see below.. bijal jumped with enthusiasm..
the second clue was something like
“Republic of iran would surely ban something like me but man there is no FUN without me.”
it was quite an easier one — all answers were fun republic
so we all reached fun republic where after a lot searching here and there we got the clue at ticket counter… whose picture is as below.
the third clue was
“The divine morn dawned half a decade ago shaking off the message and gujarat’s news.”
our answers were sandhesh press, divya bhaskar, sambhav press
so we split into teams and gone to different places
finally we got next clue at divya bhaskar.. the security guard had completed torned the chit into pieces…so no picture of that…
but the fourth clue was
“on the name of the game pickle i taste”
it was some restaurant lot of answers were going on mind..
finally we got next clue at “dominos”
the fivth clue was
“HaPPy will give you my address, fresh and new, surrounded by oranges and blues.”
various answers that came to our mind were: big bazaar, mc donalds, happinezz parlour and digicorp..
so we tried at all place including big bazaar,mc donalds and happinezz parlour at sg highway and also at himalaya mall..
but nothing came into hand…
finally we reached digicorp.. some maska to hetavi mam, payal mam and sanket sir, but no output came from them…
and that was the last clue where we left and sixth and seveth clue is still left unsolved (some security guard still be holding the clues waiting to handle us even today..)
but on the whole winning is not important. we all had a great fun..
and that would be memorable…and that’s how we all learnt team building..
one thing i would like to include that all teams have one extra member that was security guard at each place.. who were ready to help in some or other way… i am sure all other teams will agree with me..
so i would thanks to all the directors and payal & hetavi mam for organzing such a wonderful event…
eagerly waiting for more such events… truly looking forward for treasure hunt 2010
thanks..
Hii
The day was really one of the most memorable day since I joined (the other was Final of Cricket tournament).
I would like to share some incidents with all. By reading first clue, our minds were just blank. We got separated into teams of 2-3persons and met after someone finds the next chit. We made many friends in this event (Security guards of all the places ). We also got support from our opponents, like Chirag found one of our clue in the garden. And finally when we were feeling helpless for our last clue, but we found Kuntal sir at Wide Angle, and with the help of hint given by him, Kuldeep solved the puzzle and even that wasn’t the end. We were still looking for next clue around lush(when it was all solved) with so much of shouts around. People around started running here and there by thinking that there is bomb or so. After calling Payal mam from there, we found that we had done it and we rushed to the office and had delicious lunch at lush. The credit of our win goes to each team member. It was just a matter of luck that we got the right ideas at right time.
Again thanks to all for having such a memorable event. Let’s hope that we will be having such events and lu(n)sh.
Heya,
it tooooooooo late to write actually when are going on with most happening event at digicorp right now which is called “24hrs Coding War” in which ppl would sit for whole 24 hr continuously to become the champ…will comment for that in our next event
get back to event Treasure Hunt 2009!!!
It was once again a great experience, not as participant but as a management team where we participated again in lower end by sticking clues all over ahmedabad(basically giving clues on hand to all the security guards who are now very well know to digicorp].We should have kept their pics as well in case if we have
….
At one point of time i felt that team won’t be able to complete the task before evening just by knowing the clues written by Minal (The writer, generator….a GOD of creating outstanding clues…) and Payal a Event Manager who manages digicorpen’s excluding which she can not on that day,you can ask her that would be better……
cheers….& ya best of luck to the team members of “24hrs Coding War”
