2007: The Year That Was

January 1st, 2008 § 3

Dear All,
Happy New Year to everyone.

The year of 2007 will be remembered as one of the most happening years in DIGICorp’s history.
We have seen a lot of changes, lots of excitement, up, downs, failures, successes in this year. I would like to summarize some of the major things that made up the year, here. Please let me know if I am missing anything important here.

1) Launch of SignInStyle.com
We never thought that a small need of mine and a small input from Kuntal about it can make us do this. Minal (my wife) and I discussed the work flow of SIS exactly one year before, on 31st December 2006 in the parking area of Sterling Hospital. Starting from that day SIS has seen a lot. It has seen in Economic Times, News Coverage in CNBC Awaaz and has had lot more coverage in media.

It has seen a hardworking, dedicated team of calligraphers who have worked day and night to complete almost 5000 user requests we have seen so far and developers who launched this product in almost no time.

We thank you all for the same.

2) Launch of PetPooja.com
Sometimes copying a service is not as easy as it seems. After seeing similar service working in Kuwait 2 years before we thought of launching one in Ahmedabad. But at that time we found that Ahmedabad was not ready for service like this and that we were thinking ahead of time. But before 6 months when we saw similar service in Bangalore we became restless and decided to have one immediately.

Too many design changes, change of plans, change of functionality, change of leadership, long development hours…you people have seen it all. But we would like to thank you for being there always when we wanted.

New year resolution for us this year is to make PetPooja a success.

3) Launch of Rivals4Ever.com
We can call it one of the biggest success of DIGICorp so far. Not the concept itself but being selected for it in LeWeb3 startup competition. And being the only Indian company in final 30 was quite an achievement. But there are lots and lots of things to do before we can actually call it a success.

We thank all the developers and designers who worked day and night to complete the product before the demo day. Looking forward to getting similar support in coming year.

New year resolution, to make R4E a success (again) :)

4) Facebook Application Development
From the beginning of DIGICorp as a company we had one thing clear, we wanted to do something different and we just don’t want to be a project development company. Of course project development is something we love to do and we are going to get lots of interesting projects in new year.

But as a company it is our responsibility to get into latest developments of the market. Facebook is one such development that happened in year 2007. It opened up its platform for developers in mid 2007 and losing no time we launched 3 applications on Facebook platform. All credits to php team for learning it fast.

You can access 2 applications from below link

http://apps.facebook.com/rivalsforever
http://apps.facebook.com/signinstyle

3rd application is still in development and private.

5) Kuntal and Sanket got married :)
Well, not to each other as the title might suggest. Two of the Directors of the company got married and lost their bachelorhood. Poor them but I don’t pity them as I have already lost mine long ago :)

6) Dedicated HR for DIGICorp
No more endless waiting for appointment letter, joining letter, this letter, that letter etc. DIGICorp has a full time HR person now because of Kuntal :) .

Thank you very much Payal (Kuntal’s wife) for joining us and making our life much much easier.

7) New clients
DIGICorp has added many more clients in year 2007. Avot Media Inc, Abasys Technologies, Kanaga Networks are few of the major clients. Their projects are of such high quality that any development team of our industry would envy it. But that means lots and lots of hardwork which most of you are seeing right now.

8) Losing few stars of DIGICorp
DIGICorp has lost few great people this year such as Siddhartha, Mahendra, Dipen, Milan and Mamta. Please forgive me if I have missed some but any person going out of DIGICorp is a big loss as we have a small closely knit team of developers. All the best to all of them for whatever they do in their future. We are sure they are going to be a success.

9) Dedicated Design Team
No more running after freelance designers for our designs and small small changes. We have great designing team with us now. All the best to Supriya and Mikul for future, I am sure you are going to get hard time.

10) New Office for DIGICorp
How could I miss this so far?? We are the proud owners of newer, bigger office now. We will be shifting there very soon.

I think this is it for now. Please let me know if I have missed any points so far. Your comments are most welcome.

Happy New Year,
Abhishek

Hey abhi i’m glad that you scribbled in some of the unforgettable moments of 2007. I think Digicorp should be awarded as the hottest potato of the year for being in the news with SIS, Petpooja, R4E, Avot media at its persual. Ofcourse the credit goes to our dynamic, invincible and co-operative employees who are always up on their toes with their do-or-die effort.
And thank you so much for mentioning point no.6 as i also need appreciation :) )
Btw i need to see u in person to highlight more on point 5.
